Berlin, Germany but hoping to secure an 'onsite visit' that may take Islamabad a step closer to get out of the watch list

Pakistan was grayed out in June 2018 and received a 27-point action plan to reduce terrorist financing activities. In October last year, the country received another seven-point action plan after completing 26 of the 27-point action plan it originally issued in June 2018. At the last March plenary session, Pakistan announced the FATF was ready. 32 of 34 action items


Despite intense lobbying in Islamabad for relief from an international watchdog for financial crimes such as money laundering and terrorist financing, official sources told The Express Tribune that Pakistan would remain on the gray list at least until February next year.


The FATF Plenary, which begins in Berlin on Tuesday, will review Pakistan's progress and decide whether or not to keep it on the list. The decision will be announced at the end of the meeting on 17 June
